Class Levels

Pilates and other fitness/movement modalities have some requisites and expectations. I am hoping this summary will help us direct you to find the best classes for your needs.
Level 1
These classes are crafted to help you build a solid foundation for movement. These intelligent movement sessions are designed to access smaller stability muscles through mindful and educational exercise. This focus helps to improve the nervous system, brain health and joint health. Expect some hands-on assistance from your instructors to facilitate improved communication between the brain and body. These classes contain exercises on your back, side lying, on your stomach and in standing, with props available as needed to improve comfort. The goal is to improve joint mobility and brain body connection to create efficient movement patterns.
Level 2
These classes are crafted for experienced movers requiring less individual attention. They are designed to build upon the foundational skills learned in level 1 with a focus on strength and more complex movement patterns. Expect a faster pace with more frequent transitions and an increased level of challenge. Introducing myofascial release concepts, additional props, and joint mobility work, level 2 classes are safe and beneficial for people with osteoporosis and well managed joint health issues. Please consult instructors for individual concerns.
Level 3
These classes are crafted for advanced movers. Expect a full body integrated class with end ranges of joint motion, increased resistance, complex coordination of multiple joints, and breath control. These dynamic classes are going to challenge the skilled mover to control their entire body by building strength, balancing muscle groups, improving flexibility, efficiency, and freedom of movement. Prerequisites include baseline joint health. These classes are not safe for people with osteopenia, osteoporosis, stenosis, neuromuscular disorders, compromised spine heath, or any other significant joint instability. Please consult your doctor and instructors for guidance on whether level 3 classes are right for you.
